Our Position

Sustainability has been central to ROAR B2B since we launched in 2019 - and as the organiser of the UK's largest environmental services event, it's something we take seriously. We're not claiming to have all the answers, but we are committed to measuring what we do, being honest about where we are, and making consistent progress.

Since signing the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge in 2022, we've been tracking our emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3, commissioning independent carbon measurement reports, and putting practical changes in place across every event we run. In 2023-24 alone, we reduced total emissions by 559 tCO2e.

At ESS Expo, that work is visible throughout the event - from reusable and recyclable stand materials, digital event guides, and a focus on local suppliers with strong environmental credentials, to carbon offsetting through certified schemes and the Green Tickets programme, which has raised £15,300 for verified environmental protection projects to date.

There's more to do. Our roadmap sets out clear targets through to 2030, covering energy, materials, food, logistics and travel. We'll keep measuring, reporting and improving - and we hope ESS Expo itself serves as a useful demonstration of what's possible.
