For many years, the success of a recycling plant depended heavily on the experience of its operators, on skills built up over decades, sharply tuned machines and quick response to maintenance problems as they occurred. This method was effective and reliable. Until now. Today, the recycling industry is facing fundamental changes, and with it unprecedented pressure. Stricter regulations, higher quality requirements, staff shortages and more complex material flows require maximum control over performance and costs.

Of course, Bollegraaf is not sitting still and is therefore working in parallel on a number of innovation projects, for which an experienced team of Bollegraaf's own employees and external partners has been specially assembled. Together, they are working on developing the MRF of the future.

Some innovation projects have already been announced externally, such as sorting based on MFI (Melt Flow Index), in which there is close cooperation with Broeckx Plastics Recycling. But the sector can also expect innovative changes in the field of balers, screens, windshifters and battery detection in the near future. Not to mention the use of data and artificial intelligence to turn an MRF into a "smart MRF".

In short, a lot is happening at Bollegraaf. Want to stay informed? Keep an eye on Bollegraaf's website and socials.
