Air Quality News is the UK’s only daily news service dedicated to addressing air quality issues in the UK and overseas.

Since launching in 2012, AQN has established itself as a trusted authority across the full breadth of the sector, from policy and regulation, to innovation and research across both the public and private sectors.

In 2019, we launched the AQN magazine and held our inaugural National Air Quality Conference in London. Two years later we brought the debate to Manchester, with our first Northern Air Quality Conference.

Those speaking across the two conferences have included high profile names from the fields of science such as Professor Stephen Holgate, Professor Roy Harrison and Dr Gary Fuller. We have also heard from representatives of health and campaign groups, such as Clean Air Fund, Global Action Plan, World Health Organization, Clean Cities, Mums for Lungs and Asthma & Lung UK

Air pollution has a huge impact on the planet and, while the UK can point to an overall improvement in air quality, a recent Royal College of Physicians report warns that air pollution contributes to an estimated 30,000 UK deaths in 2025 and costing over £27 billion annually.

The air quality debate is no longer confined to traffic and industry. It includes construction, poor ventilation, mould and emissions from cooking and heating. Air Quality News is here to make sense of it all, with the breaking news, the expert analysis and the stories that matter. Because cleaner air isn't just an environmental goal, it's a public health imperative.
