CONTENUR has published its 2024 Sustainability Report, reaffirming its commitment to the responsible management of the urban environment through a robust strategy based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. The document, which complies with the new requirements of the European CSRD Directive, marks a turning point in the company’s sustainable vision.

Growth with positive impact

During 2024, CONTENUR achieved a turnover of €185 million, representing an 8% increase compared to the previous year, driven by the strengthening of the Iberian market, consolidation in the United Kingdom, and strong performance in France. Among the most notable milestones was the awarding of the New York containerisation contract, considered one of the most significant globally in its sector.

In addition, key innovations were launched such as the 360IGLOO, the first crane-lift container manufactured using injection moulding, and the expansion of the 3D online configurator, enhancing customer experience.

Sustainability with clear objectives

In the environmental sphere, CONTENUR implemented actions that will help progress towards the ambitious goals of its new 2024–2027 ESG Master Plan, including:

• 20% reduction in GHG emissions expected at its factories by 2027

• Increased use of recycled materials

• 100% renewable energy use in all plants and service centres where possible

Furthermore, the company strengthened its circular economy model through its CIRCLE® programme, which promotes the recovery of end-of-life materials from old containers for reintegration into the production process.

People and responsible governance

CONTENUR continued to strengthen its commitment to employee wellbeing, where in addition to promoting and ensuring a safe working environment and stable, high-quality employment, it has enhanced initiatives to further improve the attraction, integration, and development of talent, increase employee satisfaction and sense of belonging, and promote equality and diversity, with actions including:

• Implementation of the Third Equality Plan (2024–2028).

• Celebration of International Women's Day and various safety days across all its centres.

• Increase in talent attraction and development programmes.

• Strengthening of ethical, compliance, and cybersecurity policies.

In terms of governance, the company has structured its ESG model with an active Board of Directors, specialised sustainability, compliance and audit committees, and an ESG Master Plan with 16 strategic objectives, aligned with the EU taxonomy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This plan was developed based on a double materiality analysis, which is the process by which material sustainability aspects are identified in relation to the IROs (Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities) that the company must consider.

Looking into the future

Looking into 2025, CONTENUR expects to grow through its expansion in the United Kingdom, entry into the US market, and increased activity in Eastern Europe. It also plans to boost sales of high-capacity containers by promoting them in new geographies and foresees a significant increase in its services in Spain.
