Turmec has continued its international growth, delivering major recycling and waste processing projects across Ireland, the UK and Australia, helping operators increase recovery, improve efficiency and reduce reliance on landfill.
Ireland – Thorntons Recycling
Turmec delivered two major projects for long-standing customer Thorntons Recycling. At Dunboyne, Co. Meath, a new 40-tonne-per-hour C&D/C&I recycling facility improves material segregation, increases recovery and reduces residual waste. Designed with future expansion in mind, the plant provides the flexibility to respond to changing waste streams and evolving regulations.

At Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, Turmec completed a 35-tonne-per-hour Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) facility, transforming mixed residual waste into a consistent, high-quality fuel products for the Cement Industry. The fully integrated system was delivered on time and within budget, with reliability, efficiency and fuel quality central to its design.
UK – Waste-to-Energy Innovation
Turmec designed and delivered a 50-tonne-per-hour RDF feed system, converting an existing biomass facility to process Refuse Derived Fuel. Engineered around existing infrastructure, the upgrade improves operational reliability, reduces downtime and extends the facility's operational life, supporting more efficient energy recovery.

Australia – BMI Group, Queensland
In Ipswich, Queensland, Turmec designed, manufactured and installed a 60-tonne-per-hour C&D/C&I recycling facility for BMI Group. Incorporating advanced automated sorting and material recovery technologies, the plant reduces reliance on manual sorting, maximises valuable material recovery and diverts significant waste volumes from landfill.
