Attendees planning to attend the show are being asked to bring redundant devices for secure data erasure and reuse, with every suitable laptop going on to support digital inclusion charity Tech-Takeback Foundation.
TTB CircularIT, the award-winning circular IT reuse and data erasure specialist, will run a Tech Amnesty on its stand at RWM 2026, the Resource & Waste Management Expo, taking place 16–17 September at the NEC, Birmingham.
Visitors are invited to drop off unwanted but working laptops, tablets and phones at the stand across both days of the show. Every device will be securely data-erased to NCSC standards before being assessed for reuse or recyling, and every suitable laptop will go on to Tech-Takeback Foundation, the independent charity supporting people facing digital exclusion, to be refurbished and redistributed as part of its digital inclusion programme.
With many attendees travelling from across the UK and staying over for the full two-day event, TTB CircularIT is urging people to plan ahead rather than leaving it too late.
"The devices we most want to see are exactly the ones sitting in a drawer at home right now," said Jodi Harford, COO at TTB CircularIT. "If you're coming to RWM, please remember to pack your old laptop before you leave the house. Bring it with you, and by the time you head home it will already be on its way to a next life with someone who needs it."
The initiative reflects a wider problem the company works to address. An estimated 40 million electronic devices are currently sitting unused in UK homes and businesses, while 1.6 million tonnes of electricals are thrown away in the UK each year, much of it still holding personal data that has never been properly erased.
TTB CircularIT will also be on hand throughout the show to speak with organisations about compliant, large-scale IT asset disposal, covering certified data erasure, reuse-first processing and environmental and social value reporting for ESG, tender and compliance purposes.
Visitors can find TTB CircularIT at stand ME-A232 throughout RWM 2026, 16-17 September, NEC Birmingham.
