Following a standout 2025 edition that saw a record-breaking number of nominations and exceptional engagement from across the water and air quality sectors, the Environmental Monitoring & Measurement Achievement Awards (the EMMAs) are returning.
This year the EMMAs have evolved to broaden their scope, recognising an even wider range of outstanding monitoring and measurement projects and creating a more connected platform that reflects how environmental work is delivered across the UK with the addition of new geoenvironmental categories.
Taking place on Wednesday 16 September at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, during the first evening of Water, Wastewater & Environmental Management Expo (WWEM Expo), Air Quality & Emissions Expo (AQE Expo) and Contamination & Land Remediation Expo (CLR Expo), the awards will celebrate projects delivering real impact across the environmental sector- from investigation and measurement through to monitoring, compliance, control, and everything in-between.

Water and Wastewater Monitoring
The water sector sits at the heart of environmental monitoring, with a strong focus on safeguarding water quality, improving wastewater processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Recognising advanced sensing technologies, data-driven optimisation, and more these categories celebrate innovation that protects public health and the natural environment.
Air, Emissions and Cross-Media Monitoring
Monitoring air quality and emissions is critical to tackling pollution and supporting the UK’s net zero ambitions. Giving the sector a chance to showcase and celebrate cutting-edge solutions in emissions tracking, modelling, and mitigation.
Land, Soil and Geoenvironmental Measurement
Focused on the geoenvironmental sector, these new categories highlight the essential work being done to assess, monitor, and remediate contaminated sites. With innovative measurement techniques and sustainable remediation strategies, we felt it was important to include the land and soil industry in this year’s EMMA awards.
Joint Categories
Alongside sector-specific recognition, the EMMAs also feature joint categories that celebrate cross-sector collaboration, innovation, and impact. These awards reflect the increasingly integrated nature of environmental monitoring, recognising projects and partnerships that deliver measurable outcomes across multiple industries.
Recognition matters. Whether you’re advancing quality monitoring, optimising measurement systems, leveraging data and analytics, or supporting regulatory compliance, this is your opportunity to gain industry-wide recognition.
