CL:AIRE has announced the publication of the PFAS Remediation Technology Evaluation Framework, providing a more robust and consistent approach to assessing PFAS remediation technologies across England.

The framework was developed by Geosyntec Consultants for the Environment Agency as part of a project called Lines of Evidence to Assess the Effectiveness of PFAS Remediation Technologies.

The framework will help to develop a more robust and consistent regulatory approach to PFAS remediation across England, supporting a better understanding of the effectiveness of different remediation technologies.

Supporting the use of the framework

To help with the understanding and use of the framework, CL:AIRE has also published a range of supporting materials, including:

  • An overview fact sheet
  • Four case study fact sheets
  • A 30-minute video

These materials are available on the PFAS Remediation Technology Evaluation Framework page on CL:AIRE’s website.

Join the PFAS Remediation Technology Evaluation Framework webinar

To explore the framework in more detail, CL:AIRE is hosting a one-hour webinar from 1:00pm–2:00pm (BST) on 21 October 2026.

The webinar will feature Andrew Morgan, Principal Geologist, and James Rayner, Principal Hydrogeologist, from Geosyntec Consultants, who will discuss the PFAS Remediation Technology Evaluation Framework and its application.
