Mock Trial: Machinery incident investigation

The session will provide insight into how the regulator interprets and applies H&S law with a view to formulating enforcement action and, via mock trial video footage, demonstrate the challenges witnesses face when providing evidence in support of a defence. Attendees with gain knowledge of the factors which can lead to regulatory enforcement action against a business or a Director (or any other person) within an organisation who has responsibility, control or oversight of Health & Safety, and provide guidance on how existing systems and procedures can be enhanced to avoid or assist the defence of regulatory enforcement action.
