Chris Piddington

Technical Director, Arcadis

Chris has over 20 years’ experience in delivering bespoke contaminated land solutions on projects across the UK. He joined Arcadis in 2018 as Technical Director in the Site Evaluation and Restoration team. This is Arcadis' multi-award winning team delivering exceptional and sustainable solutions to our client's "geo-environmental" challenges. Whether through high resolution site investigation, rigorous quantitative risk assessment, practical constraints assessments or turnkey remediation services, Arcadis provide cost-effective and pragmatic outcomes for all our clients.

Prior to joining Arcadis Chris has worked at a number of remediation contractors and is an experienced technical director, working across all aspects of brownfield regeneration including site assessment, earthworks and technology based remediation; specialising in more complex multi-technology regeneration projects.

He is experienced in working with a broad range of public and private sector clients across multiple sectors, delivering innovative, robust, sustainable and cost-effective solutions focussed on turning a land liability into a land asset, bringing it back into beneficial use and adding value.

He is driven not only by the desire to bring brownfield land back to beneficial use but to do so in a cost effective and sustainable manner and as part of a fully integrated solution, where wider project considerations have been recognised and accounted for.

Prior to entering the world of work Chris studied Environmental Engineering at Cardiff University and stayed there to complete his PhD in the same topic.

Some 20 years later he still lives in South Wales (so is now an honorary Welshman apparently) and in his free time enjoys getting into the mountains to stretch his and his dog’s legs or coaching his son and his daughter’s football teams.
