The Sidmouth flood alleviation scheme, or as its more fondly referred to 'Sidmouth Amphitheatre', is a multi award winning SuDS project located in the sleepy coastal town of Sidmouth in Devon. The presentation will outline the need for the project, the barriers to its delivery, how the project works, set out the project partners, the importance of multi-stakeholders, multi-use and multi-benefit, how the project was funded, lessons learnt, how such an approach could be scaled up, and finally offer some reflection on the following question "Should SuDS be valued in other ways than just flood mitigation?"
