Jonathan Caesar started working at Suez Recycling and Recovery UK as a graduate engineer 10 years ago, shortly after graduating with a BEng (Hons) degree in Energy Engineering for Sustainability. Since then, he has advanced through various engineering roles within Suez. He has substantial in-depth technical knowledge of mechanical and thermal waste treatment processes and is currently working as a Senior Technical Plant Engineer.
Jonathan is a result-driven, highly autonomous, and experienced mechanical engineer who works in a national role within Suez’s Technical Team, which involves travels across the UK and occasionally abroad to technically design, retrofit, review, and improve waste processes, with a specific focus on mechanical treatment processes. He is responsible for the development of high-profile new build mechanical treatment projects and providing the business with strategic direction in relation to developing mechanical treatment technologies. An important part of his role is to evaluate emerging and developing technologies that could be implemented within waste processes to optimise or enhance performance, such as the use of AI analytics. Jonathan has a proven record of developing business cases and delivering projects from conception to beyond completion, within the resource/waste management sector. He has experience in simultaneously delivering multiple projects across various national locations.
Jonathan is always eager and striving to enhance, widen and hone his skill set whilst evolving his knowledge base. He is professionally registered with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers as an Incorporated Engineer. During his 10 years at Suez, his work has won numerous internal and external awards; among other acknowledgements and achievements, Jonathan was proud to be shortlisted as one of the industries 35 under 35 in 2019, an awards programme that identifies individuals who are striving for professional excellence, promoting industry innovation, and giving back to their company or community.
